When I first joined dA a month ago, I tried to sign up with this username. It's just my family name spelled backwards.
Unfortunately, someone else who shares the same family name with me had already taken it 9 years ago.
The owner never used it though. I asked dA admin whether I can have the username.
They told me dA doesn't delete inactive accounts nor give them away to new users. *
So I googled the owner, and found him.
I contacted him, Mr. Jonathan Nasution, a very considerate person - and he was willing to give me this account.
From now on, this will be my permanent account.
* There's a petition regarding this law [link]
since so many people feel frustrated seeing a bunch of wasted cool usernames here.
Some crazy examples are ~artist
, and, yes, ... `God
is a very mysterious account. He is a senior member with only 1 deviation and has no other contribution to the community.
But I think the most viewed, and maybe the most wanted, inactive username is *deviant
. One newly moderator even has to use a tricky lower-case "L" for his username $DEVlANT
is not available anymore.
